Interreg-Project „Taal verbindt“ (2019-2021)

The proximity to the neighboring country and the euregional area offer diverse opportunities for cooperation and development in vocational training. Through various project initiatives by the EU office, the EUREGIO, the Dutch partners and the vocational colleges, bilingual training modules are already being used in various training occupations on both sides of the border.
Furthermore, they are constantly being further developed, as well as euregional exchanges and professional mobility have been realised. The EU office in Duesseldorf is a partner in the “Taal connects” project, led by ROC Nijmegen. Various vocational colleges and ROCs are involved in pilot groups in order to make the euregional job market tangible for even more trainees. "Taal connects" is scientifically supported by the University of Paderborn. The project focuses on activities to learn the neighboring language (reducing the language barrier by imparting skills in the neighboring language), internationalization of vocational training (euregional cooperation projects and mobility in a professional context in the dual system, vocational high school and technical college) as well as promoting the attractiveness of “STEM"-professions. The aim is to stabilize the cross-border cooperation that has been successfully applied in recent decades through the learning Euregio. In total 40 German vocational colleges and Dutch vocational training institutions (ROCs) are involved.
